The Development Research Institute (DRI) is devoted to rigorous, scholarly research on the economic development and growth of poor countries. An independent and non-partisan organization, DRI is led by NYU Professors William Easterly and Yaw Nyarko and is home to a growing team of researchers. DRI seeks to engage the academic world and the wider public about effective solutions to world poverty through a range of activities, including the Aid Watch initiative.

New York University's Faculty of Arts and Science is seeking a talented Director for DRI. This position will have primary responsibility for all aspects of donor development and major gifts, leveraging current DRI relationships. As the top administrator for DRI, in collaboration with Professor Easterly, responsibilities include program development, administrative responsibility for program implementation, and recruitment and supervision of administrative staff and academic researchers.

qualifications & requirements

Qualifications/Required Education: Bachelor's degree and

Preferred Education: Master's degree preferred

Required Experience: 5 years' relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience with fund-raising, development processes and relationship development, budget management, and staff supervision. Must have field work experience in economic development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication, problem solving and networking skills. Ability to develop, implement and communicate policies and procedures to a diverse population. Knowledge of issues in foreign aid and development economics. Working knowledge of standard office software.
