Description: GBSN’s internship program is an integral component to the organization. Interns are actively involved in all areas of the organization, and play a vital role in the day-to-day operations. GBSN seek interns who are well-organized team players with a commitment to and interest in international development, non-profits, and/or communications. Interning with GBSN is a great way to gain real world experience that could lead to a career in non-profit management, international development, communications, business, or many other avenues.

This opportunity is for: Students
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the creation of GBSN member profile book for conference
• Write press releases and other conference communications
• Support program staff with various program related tasks
• Conduct internet research and draft summaries as needed
• Update contact lists
• Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive material utilized throughout the internship
• Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as needed
• All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. As required by Federal Law, employers must verify the legal status of each employee.
• Current graduate student
• Strong organizational skills
• Office experience and fluency in English required
• Maturity to take initiative and work independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strict attention to detail and ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Flexibility to adapt to changing goals and objectives
• Knowledge of data gathering techniques (library and Internet research)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint computer programs
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to Mac computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines
• Knowledge of business issues and/or another language is a plus
Compensation: $10/hour
