CDS is seeking applicants with expertise in finance, marketing, and strategic planning for a 9 month assignment based in Douala, Cameroon.
ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND AND OVERVIEW
Carrieres du Moungo was founded in 2007 to produce and distribute construction materials such as gravel, sands, concrete and tiles. Its particularity is the valorization of natural and local resources, as well as the application of environment protection concept in its process.
The MBA will be in charge of creating a couple of business plans; for the company as a whole, involving a market analysis, distribution channels and marketing positions of our products and decisions about leasing or purchasing as well as business development opportunities. The second plan should be for our gravel and tiles by analyzing the market, the competitor’s products and distribution channels, as well as positioning of our products.
The candidate should have a strong background in Finance, strategy and Marketing. Right now Carrieres du Moungo has 3 departments and each of them has a strong growth capacity and would evolve into 3 different companies.
The job description includes the following:
- Financial structuring of a holding company that will manage 3 existing companies ( a gravel production, a concrete company, and a construction company)
- Strategic Analysis including business environment, competition, Market size and growth, company strength and weaknesses etc. and proposals to the management
- Marketing strategy and planning of the tiles production company.

ACTIVITIES AND DELIVERABLES
MBA will carry on a diagnosis of the company and its products as well as the analysis of the environment (competitors, clients, substitutions, distributors, regulations etc.) in order to draft a strategic plan and a Business plan. MBA will also meet with high level clients/ partners to start negotiations
Profile of selected candidate
Education and experience in Finance
Education and experience in Strategy and Marketing
Experience working in a developing country, preferably in Africa
Experience working with extractive industry companies and small businesses a plus
Strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiations skills, particularly in cross-cultural contexts.
Strong client orientation, good ability to work alone, takes initiative, and yet be a team player.
Ability to work under pressure and manage and prioritize several disparate tasks simultaneously and effectively.
Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills.
