GBSN 2011 Conference

Workspace Thumbnail

This workspace is for GBSN Member Schools to share ideas and give feedback on the agenda for the 6th Annual GBSN Conference.

GBSN Members Schools play an active role in the shaping of our annual conference agenda.  We invite you to share your suggestions and topic ideas with us via this platform so that we can have a truly transparent and collaborative creative process as we prepare for the 2011 conference.

We hope that our co-host and venue will be decided this fall so that we can move on to planning a robust and relevant agenda.  We want your feedback on the theme, topics, speakers, goals, and outcomes for this conference.  GBSN is also interested in learning about how we can better engage MBA students in the discussion.

What should the theme be for our 2011 conference?  Please share your ideas.  Our past themes were:

2010 Innovation for Impact: Business Schools at the Crossroads of Development
2009 Partnerships in Practice: Local Managers for a Globalized World
2008 Unlocking Potential: The Importance of Management Education

Love your enthusiasm and commitment to wanting to make the world a better place. Given the wonderfully digital age that we live in I think that a potentially interesting theme for the 2011 conference be on how we can use information systems or technology to leverage the knowledge gained in business schools.

For example, our MBA class (MBA in Entrepreneurship, Gordon Institute of Business Science, South Africa, Class of 2010-2011) is currently working on what we understand to be a first in Africa, namely the introduction of ipads, google apps and itunes (university) to enable content, insights and best practices to be shared amongst students and alumni and to create a way to use the networks we all have in our private and official channels to the benefit of society).

Thanks, York.  Great idea!  I think focusing on how business schools can leverage technology would be a great opportunity to highlight the advantages of GBSN Connect, especially when it comes to enhancing networks.  We will definitely consider your suggestion.  What do others think?
